Reflections on 2018 … A year to be grateful

Posted on: January 4th, 2019

Maybe it is an age thing … but as more and more years go by time seems to take on renewed energy and fly! I have felt grateful to be asked to be involved in very interesting projects in 2018. It has been a good year.

I have seen the completion of a long project which was the adaptation and large extension to a property for a wonderful young man with additional needs and his lovely family. It was a privilege to work with them all and to see its completion. They are delighted with their altered family home which meets with all of their requirements, but is not institutional. It is a family home.

Clients have returned to me for repeat projects on different properties. Many people only extend once in their lifetime and remain in their properties. Therefore, when some move on it is a privilege when they contact me again to do something new with a different place.

I am so grateful to have had so many clients in 2018. Helping a family who needed to have their parents come and live with them so that they could care for them whilst retaining a little of their own independence. Helping a couple with a small amount of land at the side of their property, extend into it to create a kitchen they now love and live in. Helping many clients through complicated Planning and Conservation applications to outcomes they dared hope for, to name but a few.

It is good to reflect. It is good to remember. I see my work as a privilege to help others, I look forward to 2019 to see the privileges it has in store. If you stayed with me to the end of this blog, I wish you all the very best and good health and happiness for 2019.
