Celebrating 6 years in business!

Posted on: October 3rd, 2014

This week I celebrated 6 years in business. My son made us these gorgeous sheep cupcakes to celebrate this achievement. It was lovely my son made these cakes as my family are very much my inspiration for working for myself and doing the very best that I can for each of my clients.

In October 2008 I began working for myself after 6 years out of the industry, due to a career break to have a family. Prior to this I had been a Project Architect with a practise in Newcastle and had studied for 7 years at Heriot Watt University to become fully qualified as an Architect. My youngest started school in the September 2008 and I began working for myself a month later. I had spent the previous 8 months writing a business plan, resourcing my office and putting everything into place to hit the ground running.

I slowly gained commissions and then gained lots of recommendations from previous clients.Around 80% of my work now comes from personal recommendation, which is wonderful.

I have worked on lots of great projects from a factory through to internal alterations to a property. Examples of the projects I have designed and many clients comments can be found here. No matter the size or scale of project I try to provide the same level of professionalism and care. The values I had in setting up 6 years ago have not changed. My experience in dealing with many different project types has strengthened.

I look forward to celebrating more time and projects delivered in the years to come, maintaining the same level of service to all of my clients.
